#EMACS (escape meta alt control shift? XD) is crazy powerful, especially if you're into #Lisp, but for me, modal editors like #vi (and #ed) are where it's at. ;)
P.S., Syntax highlighting = overrated, but man, but I do m
iss proper wordwrap at times!
(vim has it, though)
Another round of #vimovember ?
https://codeberg.org/hyde/vimovember
Or maybe we should rename it to #noVimber

In case you've never had to reach for it, if you have multiple adjacent blank lines in a file and want to squeeze them all down to a single blank line, cat(1) has you covered¹:
$ cat -s file_with_multiple_blanks.txt > squeezed.txt
This was particularly useful when editing a config file in #vi(1) where it was just a matter of
:%!cat -s
to squeeze them all.

¹ The "-s" isn't POSIX, but it's widely supported on BSDs and Linuxen
I am seriously considering switching back from Neovim to nvi. I constantly vacillate between the richness and bloat of Neovim and the scarcity and minimalism of nvi. Sure, Neovim does have some nice features. But is it worth this huge increase in complexity? The size of Neovim's codebase is probably like 20 times that of nvi's, while its benefits seem rather marginal to me (based on my way of using it - your mileage may vary).
