The next 0dd.company gallery is out! We didn't get a lot of submissions this month (though there's going to be a few late submissions!)
This month's inspiration was the painting "The Triumph of Death", and I made a virtual pet in #uxn called "Apocketlypse" for my submission where you raise a little avatar of the apocalypse.
(It's very bad but looks good in gif form)
It also runs on an M5 Stick device thanks to the recent M5stack uxn port @neauoire did, so it feels like a real virtual pet!
You can see more (as well as other submissions) at https://0dd.company/galleries/triumph/ !

Drums of Liberation anyone?
I started this yesterday, but didn't have time to finish until today. Very proud of this one.

sometimes i fear all of the greatest pixel work was already done in the early 90s
was playing DreamWeb tonight and noticed this scene in a mobster's office. so much thought and careful colour choice went into this scene drawn by artist David Dew over 30 years ago:
- it is drawn from a palette of 256 colours
- the cigar is 3 pixels, with a single pixel for a flaming tip; and yet, manages to perfectly express that it is a cigar.
- the 5 pixel gun slides across the desk in a casual, yet threatening, manner
got the dungeon view going for walking around in You Have Died and i gotta say, this feels neat :3
(movement animations are coming later, it's not staying instant)
Spritemap from the game Crossfire (i "think" the 1992 Gauntlet-like?). As a bitmap font with 24x24 tiles. https://discmaster.textfiles.com/view/38515/Linux_Games_CD-ROM_Walnut_Creek_July_1999.iso/tgz/glibc-sources/crossfire-0.94.2-1.src.tar.gz/crossfire-0.94.2-1.src.tar/crossfire-0.94.2.tar.gz/crossfire-0.94.2.tar/crossfire-0.94.2/lib/crossfire.bdf
There are over 3000 tiles; this is just a selection.
[discmaster is incredible]
