venedict might be my favorite face. as any mechanical watch it is beautifully simple: no charging to worry about, no timers, no flashlight... though after a sunny day it glows for a solid five or six hours.

the only real trade-off is adjusting the time every week or so… but i rarely wear it for more than a few days at a time anyway.

surprisingly, it keeps time quite well (only drifting about 15...20 seconds a month), and it's both waterproof and shock-resistant. can handle running, jumping, swimming and whatever else i usually do

...oh, and at some point i have to service it to keep it running smoothly and waterproof. haven't done it once in years.

instinct has been my default for over a year. comparing to it's a bit heavier and i have to charge it twice a month, but it has a more readable face (i don't need glasses to read time), bright flashlight, and glove friendly buttons... oh, and all sorts of activity trackers too (though i can manage without them)

my first smartwatch was an , but charging it every night felt ridiculous, and the touchscreen could be frustrating. all i really needed were simple things: timers and a flashlight.

still, despite all that, i stuck with it for about five years. not sure why I didn't switch to sooner :)

... reaches the next one by the end. Normally, a clock like this would read 11:53.

But not here! The hour hand stays fixed and only jumps when the time rolls from :59 to :00. So the time displayed here is actually 12:53! Which confuses the hell out of me.

          The teapot looks great, though.
