I am seriously considering switching back from Neovim to nvi. I constantly vacillate between the richness and bloat of Neovim and the scarcity and minimalism of nvi. Sure, Neovim does have some nice features. But is it worth this huge increase in complexity? The size of Neovim's codebase is probably like 20 times that of nvi's, while its benefits seem rather marginal to me (based on my way of using it - your mileage may vary).
