my first smartwatch was an , but charging it every night felt ridiculous, and the touchscreen could be frustrating. all i really needed were simple things: timers and a flashlight.

still, despite all that, i stuck with it for about five years. not sure why I didn't switch to sooner :)

    instinct has been my default for over a year. comparing to it's a bit heavier and i have to charge it twice a month, but it has a more readable face (i don't need glasses to read time), bright flashlight, and glove friendly buttons... oh, and all sorts of activity trackers too (though i can manage without them)

      i should wear more often: light, simple, always on, time sync via radio, timer and led backlight, no charging, water proof

          Because of how small, obstructed, and illegible the digital information is, this is essentially a watch with no modes or functions. They should have had the courage of their convictions and just released it as a pure analog time keeper.

            These watches bring out the kid in me — the kid whose grandfather brought him a calculator when he was in the hospital and it might as well have been a Nintendo Switch. I think it’s the ridiculous but lovable dials. The adult me likes the simple suite of functions and the chunky size, which actually looks right at home on a large wrist.
